獻縣捕役某 A certain bailiff from Xian County…
獻縣捕役某
獻縣捕役某，嘗奉差捕劇盜，就縶矣。盜婦有色，盜乞以婦侍寢而縱之逃，某弗許。後以積蠹多贓坐斬。行刑前二日，獄舍牆圮，壓而死。獄吏葉某，坐不早葺治，得重杖。先是葉某夢身立堂下，聞堂上官吏論捕役事。官指揮曰：「一善不能掩千惡，千惡亦不能掩一善，免則不可，減則可。」既而吏抱牘出，殊不相識，諦視其官亦不識，方悟所到非縣署。醒而陰賀捕役，謂且減死；不知神以得保首領為減也。人計捕役生平，只此一善，而竟得免刑。天道昭昭，何嘗不許人晚蓋哉！

In a corpus of ca. 3100 stories from the strange tales collections Zibuyu, Xu Zibuyu, Yuewei caotangbiji, Liaozhai zhiyi, Yetan suilu, Ershilu and Xieduo an LDA-based topic modeling algorithm was asked to identify exactly 50 topics. The algorithm calculated the probability of each of the 50 topics to appeaer in each of the stories. Below are given the Top 5 topics in decending order of their probabilities for the story above. Probabilities are indicated with percentage numbers.
