惡人轉世為鱉
揚州胡姓有子頗慧，年將二十。將娶之前數月，忽得顛疾，飲食眠動不時，若明若昧，自言自笑。
一日，在牀上坐語其父母曰：「兒於昨夜奉嶽神命署本縣城隍事，本縣舊有積案十件未結，命兒公正辦理。兒恐錯誤，需請幕友，細思惟有受業某師素稱理學可信，可速備禮請之。」時某師已故多年矣。少頃，忽起立云：「師至！師至！」喃喃刺刺不休。家人旁聽，竟是兩人問答，聲音笑態，畢肖平日，云「十案中有七案仍從前議，其餘三案，一當斲頭，一當剁手，一當充軍。」
其時因醫言其病須滋陰，買一鱉，於灶下引其首而斬之。鱉頭落地，怒目猙獰可駭。相隔臥房其遠，其子忽於牀上大喝曰：「這惡人應當斬罪，還有甚麼不服，斲去還敢怒目視我耶！」家人祈禱城隍廟未回，其子又於牀上云：「太爺何故燒香於判官面前，他如何當得起太爺一拜？」
十案俱有姓名，細訪之，皆係已死境內積惡昭昭在人耳目者。

In a corpus of ca. 3100 stories from the strange tales collections Zibuyu, Xu Zibuyu, Yuewei caotangbiji, Liaozhai zhiyi, Yetan suilu, Ershilu and Xieduo an LDA-based topic modeling algorithm was asked to identify exactly 50 topics. The algorithm calculated the probability of each of the 50 topics to appeaer in each of the stories. Below are given the Top 5 topics in decending order of their probabilities for the story above.
