周景垣前輩言
周景垣前輩言，有巨室眷屬，連艫之任，晚泊大江中。俄一大艦來同泊，門燈檣幟，亦官舫也。日欲沒時，艙中二十餘人，露刃躍過，盡驅婦女出艙外。有靚妝女子隔窗指一小婦曰：「此即是矣。」群盜應聲曳之去。一盜大呼曰：「我即爾家某婢父！爾女酷虐我女，鞭箠炮烙無人理，幸逃出遇我。爾追捕未獲。銜冤次骨，今來復仇也！」言訖，揚帆順流去，斯須滅影。緝尋無跡，女竟不知其所終。然情狀可想矣。夫貧至鬻女，豈復有所能為？而不慮其能為盜也；婢受慘毒，豈復能報，而不慮其父能為盜也。此所謂蜂蠆有毒歟！又李受公言，有御婢殘忍者，偶以小過閉空房，凍餓死。然無傷痕，其父訟不得直，反受笞。冤憤莫釋，夜逾垣入，並其母女手刃之。緝捕多年，竟終漏網，是不為盜亦能報矣。又言京師某家火，夫婦子女並焚，亦群婢怨毒之所為。事無顯證，遂無可追求。是不必有父，亦自能報矣。余有親串，鞭笞婢妾，嬉笑如兒戲，間有死者。一夕，有黑氣如車輪，自簷墮下，旋轉如風，啾啾然有聲，直入內室而隱。次日，疽發於項如粟顆，漸以四潰，首斷如斬。是人所不能報，鬼亦報之矣。人之愛子，誰不如我？其強者，銜冤茹痛，鬱結莫申，一決橫流，勢所必至；其弱者，橫遭荼毒，齎恨黃泉，哀感三靈，豈無神理？不有人禍，必有天刑，固亦理之自然耳。

In a corpus of ca. 3100 stories from the strange tales collections Zibuyu, Xu Zibuyu, Yuewei caotangbiji, Liaozhai zhiyi, Yetan suilu, Ershilu and Xieduo an LDA-based topic modeling algorithm was asked to identify exactly 50 topics. The algorithm calculated the probability of each of the 50 topics to appeaer in each of the stories. Below are given the Top 5 topics in decending order of their probabilities for the story above.
